More trouble for Red Bull, this time with Alex Albon

Red Bull’s eventful afternoon at the Hungaroring continues with Alex Albon now under investigation.

The Stewards are investigating after Red Bull allegedly dried his grid box artificially before the start of the race.

On this, a note was sent to teams before the race saying: "Each competitor is reminded that they are not permitted to use any means to artificially dry the track" – so that's what Red Bull has broken#F1 #HungarianGP

After earlier rain the track was greasy before lights-out, as Albon’s team-mate Max Verstappen found when he went into the wall at Turn 12 on his way to the grid.

And whilst the team worked flat out to get the Dutchman’s car ready for the race, it seems they also set aside some time for other matters, that being to dry up Albon’s grid spot.

Albon started the Hungarian Grand Prix from P13 having been eliminated in Q2, but he made good progress up the order in the opening stages of the race.

By Lap 31 of 70, he was running in P6 behind Haas’ Kevin Magnussen after the American outfit’s gamble to move onto the dry tyres after the formation lap worked a treat.
