As unusual as they can be, our dreams can actually tell us a lot about ourselves. While some researchers believe they’re “just noise,” other people tend to think the content of our dreams can be psychoanalyzed and linked to our unconscious (via Psychology Today). And what we’re dreaming about has a deeper meaning.
That can definitely be a relief if you just had a dream where you physically fought someone. If you consider yourself a lover, not a fighter, a dream with a real altercation can be more like a nightmare. Times Now News believes that a dream about fighting could mean you have some pent up anger inside. If you’re someone who holds in your emotions and doesn’t like to start fights IRL, your dreams may be where you can release that energy and vent. The meaning of the dream can also drastically change depending on who the person is that you’re fighting in your dream.
You could be bottling up some intense emotions
While the person in your dream could actually be representative of that person, they can also be representations of different aspects of yourself and your life (via Bustle). For instance, Dreams to Meanings believes that if you’re dreaming about fighting a friend, that could actually be an indicator that you have some internal issues you need to be more aware of. When speaking with Bustle, dream analyst Lauri Loewenberg said that fighting a friend could indicate you’re feeling guilty for “not being there for them.”
Dream Bible also believes that fighting in your dream can happen when you’re feeling stressed, diclofenac children jealous, or overworked trying to achieve a goal. Basically, if you’ve got a lot of intense emotions building up, they’re going to come out in your dream. One way to help with this is to address some of those difficult emotions you’re blocking. Or, you can try to calm down and de-stress before bed. A few ways to do this is to try a self-guided meditation, put your phone away, jot down some thoughts in your journal, and get a soothing sound machine to lull you into a peaceful sleep.
