Last year, Toyota had discontinued three variants of the Yaris.
According to a media report, Toyota is evaluating the possibility of phasing out the Yaris sedan from the Indian market.
The Yaris has been on sale since May 2018, but its sales haven’t been anything to write home about. Last year, poor sales had forced the carmaker to discontinue three variants of the sedan.
The Yaris is currently offered with a 1.5-litre petrol engine that puts out 107 BHP and 140 Nm. The engine is mated to either a 6-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
Toyota hasn’t confirmed the reports of the Yaris being discontinued in India. The company has stated that it would continue to sell the sedan and cater to market needs and consumer requirements.
