Ola Electric issues statement on S1 Pro front fork failure

A preliminary investigation conducted by Ola Electric revealed that the latest incident was a “case of a very high-impact road accident.”

There have been multiple reports of front fork failures in the Ola S1 Pro. Recently, the husband of an accident victim took to Twitter to voice his frustration with the brand. This has prompted an official response from Ola Electric.

According to the tweet, the front wheel of the S1 Pro electric scooter just broke out of the suspension. The crash resulted in severe injuries to the rider, who had to be admitted to an ICU.

In response to the incident, Ola Electric has stated that a preliminary investigation into the incident revealed that this was a “case of a very high-impact road accident.” The company is in touch with the customer and has extended all necessary support to the family. Ola also reports that the rider is safe and is recovering.

The statement added that the Ola S1 Pro had been tested over 5 million km across challenging terrains and in all weather conditions. The front fork arm is said to be designed with a factor of safety that is 80% higher than typical loads encountered by the vehicles.
