Responding to a comment on an Instagram post, Citroen has confirmed that it plans to launch four new products in India by 2023 under the C-Cubed program.
Citroen will enter the Indian market with the C5 Aircross in Q1 2021. The car will be imported as a completely knocked down (CKD) kit and will be assembled at the PSA Group’s Tiruvallur factory.
Post the launch of the C5 Aircross, the carmaker plans to introduce 1 new model every year between 2021 and 2023. The cars will be made and launched in India before being sold outside the country. One of the new models is rumoured to be a sub-4m SUV called the C3 Sporty. It could be based on the modular CMP platform and could be offered with a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder Puretech petrol engine paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
